Season of Prayer for Evangelism! We invite everyone in our church and community to join us in a season of prayer for evangelism! Each week we will present a prayer focus and Scriptures.
When have you wondered or feared that something might separate you from God’s love? What would you say to, or do for, someone who is facing those same anxieties or fears? How do you imagine that the psalmists and the apostles came to trust in God’s love?
Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NRSV)
Psalm 30:5: God’s wrath, you see, is fleeting, but God’s grace lasts a lifetime. The deepest pains may linger through the night, but joy greets the soul with the smile of morning. (Voice)
Psalm 51:10-12: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit. (NRSV)
2 Corinthians 1:3-5: All praise goes to God, Father of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. He is the Father of compassion, the God of all comfort. He consoles us as we endure the pain and hardship of life so that we may draw from his comfort and share it with others in their own struggles. For even as the sufferings of Christ continue to flood over us, through the Anointed One we experience the wealth of God’s comfort just the same. (Voice)
1 John 4:9: God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. (NRSV)
